Ghost Ship Games, developer of the hit co-op mining shooter Deep Rock Galactic, has just launched a brand-new maintenance update, which is set to hit consoles at a later date.
Space Rig shenanigans are afoot with the new Hidden Dwarf Double IPA beer, which transfigures drunken dwarves into an assortment of objects for a brand new prop hunt minigame in the Space Rig. Also included in the latest round of quality assurance from Management is a Heavy Armor rework, the removal of pesky teleporting Dreadnoughts, and plenty more in-game improvements.
The February Maintenance Update will be going live today for PC users, with console players welcoming the updated content by 4 March at latest.

February 2024 Maintenance Update Key Information
- Funny seeing you beer
- Beer goggles take on a new meaning at the Space Rig as miners can now try out the new Hidden Dwarf Double IPA from Hydengözik Brewery. This beer not only tastes delicious but has the power to transform dwarves into a variety of everyday objects. Grab some friends, chug a few beers, and enjoy a prop hunt mode for the first time in Deep Rock Galactic!
- Armor? I hardly know her!
- The strength of Heavy Armor on the creatures of Hoxxes IV will now scale in correspondence with the Hazard level, resulting in tougher enemies feeling more of a challenge.
- Weapons with the Armor Breaking modification have also been reworked for better consistency. Projectiles from these overhauled armaments will now both inflict enough damage to destroy armor, whilst also hitting the juicy bug underneath.
- Dreadnoughts now abide by the space-time continuum
- An issue where Dreadnoughts would randomly teleport during a fight has now been addressed. Dwarves should now be able to take down these troublesome creatures with ease.
- Improvements and fixes across the board
- Weapon Maintenance XP will now count towards the maximum of what it costs to purchase all paintjobs for all weapons, removing the need to claim weapon skins to reset the tracker. This maximum XP only applies to existing paintjobs, as excess XP cannot be banked for future use.
- To avoid dwarves going on strike after becoming unhappy with the Miner Community terminal, the system has received some new upgrades. Dwarves should now be able to more reliably join a union chapter, receive the chapter tag on Discord, and collect rewards.
- Speaking with friends is being streamlined even further. PC players will find it easier to access Steam’s general settings within the Deep Rock Galactic settings menu, resulting in a quicker way to access voice options.
- The February Maintenance Update will be going live on 19 February for players on PC, before reaching consoles by 4 March at latest.
