Spooky season is officially in orbit, Guardians.
Beginning today, players can dive into Destiny 2’s annual Festival of the Lost – the Tower’s favourite haunted celebration – running from October 21 to November 4, 2025. This year’s event is packed with new thrills, chills, and loot, featuring two brand-new activities: the PvE showdown Haunted Altars and the PvP free-for-all Red Rum(ble). Oh, and of course, a fresh stash of Halloween masks and limited-time rewards to earn along the way.
Haunted Altars – Defend the Moon from Darkness
For those who prefer to blast through nightmares with friends, Haunted Altars is a brand-new six-player matchmade activity set on the Moon. Guardians will fend off waves of enemies, gather candy, and fortify their defenses while facing the terrifying Headless Ones. It’s pure seasonal chaos — teamwork, firepower, and a bit of pumpkin spice energy all rolled into one.
Conquer the Darkness, claim your treats, and you might just walk away with some eerie new gear glowing brighter than the Traveler itself.
Red Rum(ble) – The PvP Fright Fest
If you’re the type to prefer dueling your fellow Guardians instead of the Hive, Red Rum(ble) is where you’ll want to be. This twisted take on Destiny’s classic Rumble mode pits six players in a chaotic free-for-all arena filled with explosive pumpkins and surprise Headless Ones that turn every encounter into a trick-or-treat firefight. Expect jump scares, laughter, and maybe a little salt in your post-match chat.
Treats, Masks, and Haunted Gear
Head to Eva Levante in the Tower to kick off your Halloween adventure with your first mask and access to the event-exclusive challenges. This year’s Eerie Engrams drop gear above your current Power level, making this spooky celebration one worth grinding for.
Candy remains your best friend — use it to upgrade your Haunted Mask with special mods or grab cosmetic goodies straight from Eva’s event shop. Three standout weapons are haunting the loot pool this year:
- Gunburn – a Kinetic Submachine Gun with serious bite.
- Hushed Whisper – a Strand Bow that hits silent but deadly.
- Arcane Embrace – last year’s fan-favorite Arc Shotgun, now returning with a bright green holofoil twist.
Collect them all, if you dare — each weapon looks like it’s been forged by the Headless Ones themselves.
Bungie Store’s Festival Sale
The fun doesn’t stop in-game. The Bungie Store is joining the festivities with a Festival of the Lost Sale from October 21 at 10:00AM PT through November 4 at 9:59AM PT. Expect $7.77 flat rate shipping across the continental US, EU, and UK (standard shipping), plus 20% off all Last Chance items.
Shoppers can also claim the Twisted Sincerity emblem with qualifying purchases and snag the returning Headless One T-shirt — available only to players who originally earned it by November 19, 2024. It’s a perfect way to show your spooky pride IRL.
Get Ready to Haunt the Tower
Festival of the Lost 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most creative events yet, bringing new ways to play, earn, and dress up your Guardian in the spirit of Halloween. Whether you’re chasing candy or chaos, this year’s celebration is the perfect excuse to jump back into the action and raise a few ghosts along the way.
Grab your mask, load your favorite weapon, and head to the Tower — because the ghosts aren’t waiting for anyone.
