Techland has unleashed its most gruesome look yet at Dying Light The Beast in a new trailer titled “Blood & Guts”—and if the name doesn’t give it away, consider this your official warning: it’s absolutely soaked in graphic violence.
The trailer is a relentless montage of decapitations, flesh-tearing slashes, blood-flooded stabs, and savage finishers that make it crystal clear: Dying Light: The Beast is pushing the franchise’s gore and horror to an entirely new level.

From the first swing to the final scream, this trailer is a brutal showcase of the most vicious combat in Dying Light history. If you thought the original was intense—this is carnage refined.
A Vicious New Vision for Dying Light
“We’ve dramatically increased the body horror to give you this feeling of fighting for pure survival and Kyle’s hunger for revenge,” explains Tymon Smektała, Dying Light Franchise Director. But the gore isn’t just shock value—it feeds directly into the survival horror atmosphere and psychological tension.
“It’s one thing to see a health bar go down; it’s another entirely to see flesh peel from bone or burned faces screaming inches from you.”
Brutality Enhanced by Tech
Techland has rebuilt the gore system from the ground up. Game Director Nathan Lemaire confirms: “We doubled the number of damage points—what we call Gore-Nodes—on enemies. We also enhanced melee precision, so every strike feels surgically destructive.”
- Double the enemy damage zones (Gore-Nodes)
- Nearly triple the number of brutal finishers
- Precision-based melee targeting—cut off limbs with deadly accuracy
Every fight is now a personalized bloodbath, with endless variations in mutilation and reaction. Whether you’re hacking a limb or smashing skulls, combat has never felt more physical—or more disturbing.
Realistic Gore, Crafted by Artists (and Fake Blood)
“We improved all wound visuals across all body types,” says Dominik Wasieńko, Lead Character Artist. “The research was extensive… I just hope no one ever checks my browser history.”
To make blood splatter feel *real*, the team used practical effects. “Nothing out there gave us the right realism,” says Katarzyna Tarnacka-Polito. “So we used fake blood and filmed real actors to get the look right.”
Launch Incoming – Prepare for Carnage
Dying Light: The Beast launches September 19, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. With just six weeks to go, Techland is still fine-tuning the gore to make every kill unforgettable.
