Techland is celebrating Halloween in true horror fashion with a brand-new update for Dying Light: The Beast and a chilling Halloween event for Dying Light 2: Stay Human. From eerie forests and nightmarish enemies to festive city streets filled with ghoulish fun, players are in for a fright-filled treat this season.
Dying Light: The Beast – New Update Details
The latest patch for Dying Light: The Beast adds more than just bug fixes—it transforms gameplay. One of the standout additions is the new human-enemy behavior system, which allows enemies armed with melee weapons to surrender when faced with a firearm, creating more immersive, reactive encounters.
Players can now also enjoy nine new weapon finishers across various weapon types, including one-handed blades, two-handed blunts, knives, and knuckledusters. Each finisher delivers a brutal, cinematic execution that adds weight and personality to every fight.
The third week of the Community Challenges: Call of the Beast is now live. This challenge tasks the community with landing millions of accurate firearm shots. Reaching milestones unlocks exclusive rewards like the Marksman Car Skin and the Bullseye Rifle, encouraging teamwork and precision.
The update also improves stability, graphics, audio, and overall game performance, while enhancing progression and in-game economy systems. Full patch notes are available on Techland’s official channels.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human – Halloween Showdown
Running from October 30 (6 PM CET) to November 20, the Halloween Showdown event transforms Villedor into a haunted battleground. Two factions compete by collecting candies from defeated zombies, which can be donated to Baka at the Bazaar or Tower Raid hub. Weekly targets unlock faction-themed weapons and exclusive charms for top performers.
Villedor’s streets are decked out with Halloween decorations, while returning themed enemies—like Pumpkintiles, Scaregoons, Witches, Virals, and Biters—stalk the shadows. In Tower Raid, players will find redesigned layouts, eerie rooftop fights, and fresh characters such as Cursed Pirate and CyberRaider. The new reward track features Toxic and UV weapons, plus a competitive scoreboard to show off your dominance.
Community Creations & Halloween Bundles
The community has also joined the spooky fun with themed maps like Atomborne: Nightmare Hunter and The Sweetening Hour. Starting November 13, new bounties on these and three other maps will let players earn extra candies to boost faction progress.
Of course, no Halloween is complete without costumes. Techland has introduced two chilling bundles: the Volkan Bundle, which packs experimental tech like a gravity-defying rifle, and the CyberRaider Bundle, perfect for players who want a dystopian flair. Both are available now via the in-game store.
Whether you’re slaying monsters in The Beast or trick-or-treating through Villedor, Dying Light and Dying Light 2 deliver the ultimate Halloween horror experience this year.
