Notorious Studios has officially launched its debut title Eldegarde on Steam, delivering a fantasy-flavoured take on the extraction RPG genre for PC players.
The game arrives following a successful run in Steam Early Access, where it built a dedicated community and earned over 3,000 Mostly Positive user reviews. Player feedback during that period helped shape Eldegarde’s full 1.0 release.
Classic Classes With a High-Risk Twist
At launch, players can choose from a lineup of iconic fantasy classes, including the Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, and Priest, alongside the newly added Paladin.
Eldegarde blends traditional RPG class identity with full-loot PvP extraction gameplay, challenging players to survive dangerous encounters, secure valuable loot, and escape before rival players do the same.
New PvE Mode Added for 1.0
One of the standout additions for the full release is a brand-new PvE mode. This option allows newcomers to explore maps and learn combat systems at their own pace without the pressure of PvP.
It offers a safer alternative to Eldegarde’s flagship PvP extraction experience, making the game more approachable for players new to the genre or those who want to experiment with different classes and builds.
Built by Blizzard Veterans
Eldegarde is developed by Notorious Studios, a team made up largely of former Blizzard developers and led by ex–World of Warcraft game designer Chris Kaleiki.
Speaking on the launch, Kaleiki described Eldegarde as a response to long-standing issues within RPG and MMO design, particularly around class balance, progression, and PvP systems.
He also pointed to the growing popularity of extraction-style gameplay, positioning Eldegarde as a fantasy-focused evolution of the genre.
Available Now on Steam
Eldegarde is available now on Steam for £21.99 / €24.99 / $24.99.
With its blend of high-risk PvP, classic fantasy classes, and an accessible PvE option, Eldegarde aims to carve out its own space in the rapidly evolving extraction RPG landscape.
