ENDER LILIES: Quietus of the Knights, the dark fantasy metroidvania fairy tale from publisher Binary Haze Interactive, now haunts the halls of PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 4.
Developers Live Wire, Adglobe Tokyo and Adglobe Montreal Studio bring the melancholy journey to life with gorgeously hand-drawn environments. The PlayStation version contains all eight regions and the full story content added since the Steam Early Access release on June 21 which added the exciting conclusion to Lily’s quest.
Priestess Lily awakens with no memory of the events devastating the kingdom of Land’s End. With the spirit of a dead knight as her guide, she must traverse abandoned villages, dark forests, and other locations overrun with the undead. The Rain of Death falling all over the kingdom has plunged the land into ruin, turning its citizens into mindless monsters, and only Lily can find out why and hope to restore her homeland.
With the help of her faithful knight protector, Lily will face former friends turned deadly foes and purify them to bring the spirits of the bosses to her side as allies once more. Mix and match equippable companions to create an ethereal bodyguard squad and use abilities from powerful ground slams to 360-degree mace swings to take out opponents and open new paths forward on Lily’s journey.
A haunting soundtrack from Mili, the musical group that has worked on anime series such as Ghost in the Shell and Goblin Slayer as well as rhythm games with millions of fans like Cytus and Deemo, completes the atmospheric experience.
“Every part of ENDER LILIES, from the beautiful Mili made music to the hand-drawn art and tight combat mechanics, contribute to a poignant whole, greater than the sum of its parts,” said Hiroyuki Kobayashi, CEO, Binary Haze Interactive. “We hope players will be moved by the story, and even as metroidvania fans find fresh challenges to conquer, players new to the genre should find plenty here to love as well.”
