Galacticare is back with more NHS-in-space madness, and I couldn’t be happier to dive in. Thanks to the awesome team at Brightrock Games, I got my hands on a code for the latest DLC, The Voice Beyond, which launched on April 2nd, 2025. This fresh expansion for the hit sci-fi hospital sim adds even more story content, bizarre new diseases, and fresh challenges for players to tackle. I’m once again scrubbing in on the PlayStation 5, so let’s get ready for another round of interstellar healthcare chaos!
For those that might not know what Galacticare is and to save repeating myself I have provided a link to my in-depth review: https://invisioncommunity.co.uk/galacticare-review/. To speed things along though Galacticare is similar to Two Point Hospital but in space. In this DLC the Cabal has returned more ruthless than ever. Leaving devastation everywhere they go they are like a plague on the galaxy and need to be taken out.
You as the director of Galacticare become the front line for the sick and wounded in the war and through three new campaign levels must overcome the CABAL and make sure your patients get better and back on their feet.
What is New?
So, as mentioned we get three fully voiced campaign levels that continue to grow on the wacky and comedic values we got in the core game. This storyline focuses on the battle against the CABAL and your efforts to wipe out all life in the universe. I did enjoy the extra story elements and each level was a decent length, I think I put about two hours plus into the missions and that wasn’t going for the five-star level.
If I was to do this then I would have plenty more hours at my disposal. One thing that I did notice was that you got an option at the beginning of the DLC to unlock everything in the core game to make the DLC more playable. This was super helpful for those who might not have unlocked everything but at the same time, I would have thought you’d want to at least complete or play through the main game before diving into the DLC.
That’s not all, you will have to cure new and bizarre diseases that each provide a challenge on their own not to mention the new challenges and patients like the Laserated Xil and having an ancient cosmic god breathing down your neck. Some of the new diseases turn everything on its head quicker than COVID put us all into lockdown. However, keep an eye out for those pesky robot monkeys that will infiltrate your hospital unexpectedly and cause trouble.
Then you have what is known as the Unseen Voice, no one knows exactly who or what it is but it isn’t friendly. I love all the new features that have been implemented and you can tell that Brightrock Games have brought just as much love and passion to the DLC as they put into the core game.
The CABAL isn’t for the fate-hearted as they don’t fight fair. They will tamper with your state-of-the-art medical equipment, spread sabotage and sickness, and even turn your friends and allies against you. If running the NHS in space wasn’t hard enough, it just got a lot more complicated. The fight for the galaxy isn’t going to be won by just rifles and starships, you need to make sure that the hospital is equipped with the right equipment and supplies to patch everyone up and send them back to the front line.
Taking up the mantle of Director again was super satisfying and overcoming the new hurdles and seeing all the new features got me back into the simulation hype and replying to the core game all over again to try and get five stars on the missions. This was without a doubt another chaotic experience and I enjoyed scrubbing in and building the best hospital the galaxy has ever seen. This time becoming the front line for the war effort.
Conclusion
In Galacticare The Voice Beyond, players can expect an explosive, wacky, and unpredictable experience that builds upon the core game that came out back in March 2023. On top of the free challenge mode that got added, we are graced with this affordable DLC pack at £7.39. For any fan of the main game or hospital simulations, this is a no-brainer and I highly recommend that you check it out. The voice acting, sci-fi vibe, and pure chaotic nature of Galacticare will have you playing for hours.
Brightrock Games have defiantly delivered and I hope that they continue to do so as I would love more Galacticare in my life. For these reasons, this DLC pack gets a 9 out of 10 for being packed full of content and keeping the madness coming.
