ABOUT THE TX RANGE
Gioteck’s all-new TX Range is built for a demanding new generation of gamers and music lovers. One year in research & development. All the TX headsets deliver an impeccable blend of features, quality and design – letting you game and go in style.
What I really love about this, is if you are a gamer, you will more than likely have more than one console, so purchasing different headsets can get expensive and get cluttered. But with this Gioteck TX-40s Stereo Gaming Headset, you can use it for multiple gaming devices. How cool is that?!
Suited for the Xbox One, XBox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro and Mobile it really is the perfect gift for any gamer. In my house, we do have an Xbox One, PC and mobile devices/tablets so this has had a great range of uses.
The headset is a really comfy fit, you can adjust by sliding the copper coloured adjusters on the earpieces to fit comfortably. Once on your ears, it really does give you that feeling of shutting the world out so you can sit and listen to your music/gaming. Even with no noise playing it dims the outside noise out too. There is also the volume adjuster situated on the wire which will also allow you to turn on/off.
In terms of performance, I was looking forward to putting these through their paces. I used the TX 40s gaming headset for the Xbox One and played a multitude of games – from Minecraft to car racing and my favourite Apex. I was listening out for background noise, how the sounds balanced out between the two ears and how ‘bright’ the sound was. I could clearly hear ‘small’ things like footsteps, reloading effects and voices. I could easily hear the other players and the music didn’t sound ‘tinny’ at all.
The headset itself is extremely comfortable to wear, thanks to the ultrasoft Alcántara cushioning in the ear cushions, and well-padded headband. One thing I always look for in headsets is the ear cushions and their size, compared to others I only have quite small ears so find most headsets to be too big on my ears and therefore tend to slip off my ears mid-game or at the slightest movement of my head, the TX-40s exceeds my expectations as it fits snugly around my ears. I myself normally prefer leatherette cushions although I have found that the softness of the TX-40s ear cushions are better than a lot of the leatherette style headsets I have used in the past.
The in-line controls are present, featuring a volume wheel and mute switch, it took me a few attempts to get used to the volume control as I’m used to turning the wheel down to lower the volume but with the TX-40s it seems the volume control works in the opposite direction. To lower the volume you turn the wheel up and visa versa. The position of the controls is good compared to other headset brands I have used as it is positioned closer to the earpiece rather than closer to the controller.
Grab the TX-40 Range of headsets from any good retail outlet for around £24.99.
