ESL UK today announced the appointment of esports journalist and streamer Heather “Naysayerz” Dower to the position of marketing and communications manager. In this role Heather will oversee the promotion for ESL tournaments and initiatives in the UK, including the ESL Premiership, and support UK talent at international events such as IEM Katowice.
“Her contribution to the industry, affiliation from grassroots to pro-level esports, and experience in marketing and communications, made Heather the outstanding candidate for the role,” commented James Dean, UK managing director at ESL. “We’re extremely excited to have her join our team.”
“I’m thrilled to join the well-oiled machine that is ESL UK,” said Heather. “They are doing esports right, running excellent tournaments and supporting grassroots teams. I’m really excited to bridge the gap between the community and ESL and, in my new role, to help share their success stories.”
Heather began her esports career in 2011 casting CS:GO, soon becoming a well-known face and host at UK esports tournaments and events. She has worked on grassroots and professional esports, covering all areas from performance to production, both on and off the camera. Heather has also founded the gaming community Team Kryptk, running charity livestreams that raised money for Mind and SpecialEffect.
Most recently, Heather has worked as a correspondent for the esports TV network GINX TV. As well as reporting on tournaments, she hosted and produced the world’s only daily live esports show, covering news and interviews with players and industry figures.
