French developer Le Cartel Studio and nomadic publisher Devolver Digital have officially unveiled Heave Ho 2, the chaotic sequel to their smash-hit party game Heave Ho!.
The slapstick physics-based multiplayer game returns with 2–4 player co-op and versus action, inviting players to grab, grapple, and swing their way through eight brand-new themed worlds. From the madness of weightless space to full-blown kitchen chaos, expect friendships to be tested in the best possible way.
Online Multiplayer Finally Arrives
For the first time in the series, Heave Ho 2 introduces full online co-op and versus multiplayer for 2–4 players. The original game became a couch co-op favourite thanks to its ridiculous physics and teamwork-focused design, and now that chaos can extend beyond the sofa.
Classic local multiplayer also returns, ensuring that the party game energy that made the original so beloved remains intact.

Versus Mode Brings the Arguments
If co-op gets too heated, players can jump into versus mode — a collection of frantic challenges specifically designed to spark competitive rivalries. According to the developers, each mode is “cunningly designed to start a completely different argument every time.”
Expect fast-paced challenges where timing, coordination, and betrayal all play a part.
Eight New Worlds Packed with Gadgets
Heave Ho 2 expands the formula with eight all-new themed worlds, each introducing fresh mechanics and chaotic scenarios. Players will also gain access to a variety of new gadgets, including:
- Pop guns
- Sauce bottles
- Levers and keys
- Drones
These additions promise to shake up the gameplay formula and keep every session unpredictable.
Enhanced Visuals and Character Expression
The sequel also brings a visual upgrade, featuring richer environments, improved character animations, and clearer visual cues to help players navigate the mayhem. The enhanced presentation aims to make the action easier to read while doubling down on the charm and absurdity that defined the original.
A Proven Party Hit Returns
The original Heave Ho! has sold close to one million copies across PC and Nintendo Switch, earning its place as one of Devolver Digital’s all-time bestselling titles on Switch.
Alexandre Muttoni, artist and co-founder at Le Cartel Studio, commented on the sequel’s announcement with typical tongue-in-cheek humour:

Release Window and Switch 2 GameShare Support
Heave Ho 2 is set to launch this summer on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will support GameShare, allowing one player who owns the game to share it locally or online with up to three additional players — making it even easier to get a full squad swinging.
