Gaming accessory startup, Exogrip, has launched an innovative gaming grip that moulds to the shape of users’ hands, increasing comfort and control.
The PS5 controller grip becomes malleable when heated, and uses patented technology to mould itself to the contours of users’ hands. This is achieved in a simple, three-step process – heat, grip and game. Once moulded, the smart grip provides enhanced comfort and optimises the gaming experience.

The new PS5 controller grip is the brainchild of 27-year-old Sam Coombes who came up with the idea during the Covid-19 lockdown when he was gaming a lot more than usual. Whilst developing Exogrip alongside his day job as a digital marketing manager, he secured some seed funding from his former university, the University of East Anglia, to bring the idea to market.
The gaming grip is coming to market at a time when concerns about gamers’ hand health are growing. Research has shown that gaming for long periods of time can cause nerve damage, leading to chronic health conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and tendonitis.
