Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have premiered a brand-new Gameplay Overview Trailer for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, offering a deeper look at the over-the-top action-horror shooter inspired by classic 80s gory cinema.
Developed by the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, World War Z, and SnowRunner, this new IP showcases its blend of chaotic co-op combat, exaggerated horror, and unapologetically silly zombie destruction.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando launches on March 12, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando – Gameplay Overview Trailer
Non-Stop Zombie Destruction in Co-Op
The trailer introduces players to a highly trained team of mercenaries tasked with cleaning up an undead infestation in a 4-player co-op action survival shooter. Missions take place across a semi-open world overrun by Saber’s signature Swarm technology, flooding levels with endless, simultaneous waves of mutated monstrosities.
To survive the onslaught, players will have access to a range of slime-proof, apocalypse-ready vehicles, letting you mow down zombies in style while navigating the hellish environments.
A Brutal Arsenal and Class-Based Combat
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando features a lethal loadout of 16 primary weapon types, alongside a wide selection of secondary weapons designed for close-up carnage. Expect everything from shotguns, SMGs, and sniper rifles to pistols, machetes, and crowbars — all built for maximum gore.
Players can choose between four distinct classes:
- Strike
- Medic
- Operator
- Defender
Each class brings unique abilities to the battlefield, encouraging teamwork and tactical coordination. Matchmaking and private lobbies are both supported, with full crossplay allowing players from all platforms to squad up together.
Time-Limited Demo Coming to Steam
Players eager to jump in early can do so with a time-limited playable demo, running from February 19 to March 2 exclusively on Steam.
The demo offers a first taste of the game’s explosive co-op action, letting players team up with friends to blast through relentless zombie hordes ahead of launch.
Pre-Order Editions and Bonus DLC
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is available to pre-order now in two editions: the Standard Edition and the Blood Edition, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Pre-ordering any edition grants the Leon’s Secret Stash DLC for free.
