The first FPS set during the nazi invasion of Poland is available now on Steam. Player takes the role of Piotr Kowalski, a Polish soldier, who’s sent to trenches in the first minutes of the conflict. The game reconstructs weapons used during this period of the war and also allows to try out experimental ones, based on historical blueprints.
From the battle of Mokra, through the siege of Warsaw and the landing on the Hel peninsula – Land of War allows players to learn more about the early and forgotten battles of WW2. The developers at MS Games promise that they used a gameplay-first approach and the historical context is presented in a way, which doesn’t interfere with the game experience.
We precisely reconstructed weapons, vehicles and uniforms from 1939. As far as gameplay is concerned, we were inspired by military shooters like the first Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Boomer shooters inspired by FPS games of the late nineties are becoming more and more popular. We decided to go a bit further in video game history and bring the nostalgic feel of the first decade of the 21st century. Land of War is neither a simulation nor a history lesson – it’s pure entertainment at its core. All the historic elements form a background which the player absorbs while having fun – says Sebastian Binik from MS Games.
