Crystal Dynamics has announced two new entries in the Legacy of Kain franchise during Sony’s State of Play: Defiance Remastered and Ascendance.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Defiance Remastered modernizes the 2003 classic with updated graphics, modernized controls, and bonus content. Developed by Crystal Dynamics and PlayEveryWare, it launches on March 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Pre-orders include exclusive Kain and Raziel “Shifter” skins.

Developed by Bit Bot Media and FreakZone Games, it introduces retro-inspired 2D combat, select 3D PS1-style sequences, and anime-influenced cinematics.
