Alphabet Soup Games has launched their first game, Lux Primora, on Kickstarter. Lux Primora is heavily inspired by the Golden Sun video game franchise, which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. The protagonists of Lux Primora each have a special connection to the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, and will travel the world of Aurora to restore the balance, uncover ancient secrets, and decide Aurora’s fate.
Development on Lux Primora began in October of 2020, when Alphabet Soup Games founder Derrick Bond created the Lux Primora Team. The team is a group of passionate individuals who are all working on this project to begin their careers in the games industry. With a shared love of Golden Sun, the team aims to create Lux Primora as a spiritual successor to the Golden Sun franchise, which hasn’t seen a new entry since 2010.
Lux Primora is a new take on the classic JRPG formula by embracing and then subverting common genre tropes, and providing players with alternate methods of character advancement that reduce the need for “level grinding”. Players can battle and solve puzzles with elemental magic, and summon the power of the spirits to change their characters’ class and playstyle on the fly.
