Stack Fest is set to become a landmark event in the UK esports calendar and will feature well-known esports brands and pro teams, along with the fan community, all coming together for a unique three- day epic esports gathering.
As restrictions have been reduced across the country, Stack Fest can confirm that they’ll be going ahead with the event featuring both indoor and outdoor activity. Staff working on the event will continue to wear masks and full safety guidelines for visitors will be announced nearer to the date.
The event runs for 3 days and features Esports Ambition (industry), Talent Aspiration (students and careers) and Player Action (public consumer day). From Thursday 9th – Saturday 11th September, Stack Fest will feature a range of opportunities targeted at those at different points on their esports journey, from established industry professionals to students and casual players.
The festival will be held in the stunning location of Here East, located on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Here East boasts tenants including the likes of BT Sport, Sports Interactive, Fiit, Bidstack, Staffordshire University London and Plexal (Here East’s Innovation centre). It is home to over 4,500 academics and innovators, offering the perfect inspiring setting for anyone looking to start or further develop their esports career.
Newly announced, Bitstocks will be joining the action as a Partner on Day 1 and Day 2. Based on site at Here East, Bitstocks will be offering attendees the opportunity to join studio tours, as well as gain valuable insights into bitcoin and NFTs. They’ll be joined on Day 1 by London Esports discussing the journey of building an esports team and UKIE offering industry insight and a look at the next steps for the esports sector. Further sessions are to be announced over the coming weeks with the latest updates available on the Stack Fest website.
Day 2, Talent Aspiration, taking place on Friday 10th September will be led by Education Partner Staffordshire University London and will offer those who want to build a career from their passion for games an incredible opportunity to find out more about career pathways and meet with studios.
Key programme highlights include “Insider tips on routes into the esports event and communications industry” with Esports Insider and a panel session titled “Diversity within the industry; the highs, the lows and the where to goes’ chaired by Robin Gray, founder of Gayming Magazine. There’ll also be an opportunity to get real careers insight with “University alumni from the classroom to the studio’, a panel session exploring graduate journeys, where they are now and the advice they have for emerging talent.
Day 3 on Saturday 11th September is all about the esports community getting close to the pros, enjoying new experiences and learning more about how to turn your passion into a potential future career. The festival space will be dedicated to Player Action and created for both single and multi-players.
Newly announced to be joining Stack Fest on Saturday 11th September is TeamFordzilla. Continuing in their mission to make gaming accessible for all they’ll be bringing along their Vanzilla to the Community Arena. Visitors can also look forward to meet and greets with pro-teams, brand competitions and game tutorials.
For those looking to learn from the pros, London Esports will be at Stack Fest across the three days with opportunities to meet their pro-players.
