Indie Cup organizers has revealed the summer season’s winners. The largest independent game developers contest in Eastern Europe concluded on September 15th with rogue-lite city-builder Against the Storm taking the Best PC Game award. Vivid adventure game Mechanic 8230, which was nominated in 6 categories, took away two awards – Rising Star for the smaller teams with no publisher and Critics’ Choice, judged by game journalists.

The 11th season of Indie Cup attracted a record-breaking 265 applications, with 178 of them making it into the main contest. You can check all of the S’21 nominees in the special section of the Indie Cop site.

On Indie Cup S’21, our jury board was as experienced as ever. The games were evaluated by experts from Rockstar Games, CD Projekt Red, Focus Entertainment, Ubisoft, NVIDIA, Wargaming, Pixonic, 101XP, Humble Bundle, and many others. Also, game journalists, influencers, winners of past contests, and even the players themselves, in the special Players’ Choice category.
This time Indie Cup expanded to a total of 22 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Estonia.
Indie Cup participants competed for a special prize from Kefir – the company is already in contact with a few studios from the contest. Teams can receive full funding for their game, as well as assistance in its development and promotion. Also, Xsolla provides $70,000 in monetary prizes, as well as various services for $80,000. Among Indie Cup prizes, there are powerful GeForce RTX 3070 graphic cards from Unreal Engine, PR services from GTP Media, tickets to conferences, services, and much more.
