If you’ve been waiting to jump into Nioh 3, now’s your moment. KOEI TECMO Europe has confirmed that the brutal samurai action RPG is part of the latest digital spring sales across both PlayStation 5 and Steam—and yeah, it’s a solid excuse to finally dive in.
The PlayStation Mega March sale runs from 11th to 25th March 2026, while the Steam Spring Sale follows from 19th to 26th March 2026. So depending on your platform, you’ve got a limited window to grab it cheaper.
A Bigger, Bolder Nioh Experience
Released in February 2026, Nioh 3 doesn’t play it safe. This time around, you step into the role of Tokugawa Takechiyo—on the path to becoming shogun during Japan’s Edo period—but the scope is way bigger than anything the series has done before.
We’re talking multiple eras, massive open-field exploration, and locations that jump across Japanese history. From Edo Castle to the Totomi region during the Warring States period, through to Kyoto in the Heian era—and even the Bakumatsu period making its debut in the franchise—it’s a proper historical mash-up with that signature Nioh brutality.
Each area brings its own vibe too, so you’re not just running through copy-paste environments. There’s a real sense of scale and variety this time around.
Free Demo Still Available – And It’s Worth Your Time
If you’re not sure whether it’s your kind of punishment, there’s still a free demo available—and it’s not just a throwaway slice either.
You can:
- Play solo or in online multiplayer (up to 3 players)
- Create and customise your own character
- Take on a full-on boss fight against Jakotsu-baba
- Carry your progress over into the full game
It’s basically a proper test run, not a watered-down teaser. Just keep in mind: there’s no cross-play support, and some regions (like Germany) require PlayStation Plus for access.
UK Players – There’s a Real-World Event Too
Here’s something a bit different. Nioh 3 is also featured at the British Museum in London as part of its Samurai exhibition, running until 4th May.
Even better, the game will be playable at the Samurai Late event on 27th March (5pm–8pm), and it’s completely free to attend. If you’re anywhere near London, it’s a rare chance to try the game in a pretty unique setting.
Available Now Worldwide
Nioh 3 is out now globally on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. It supports both Japanese and English voiceovers, alongside multiple subtitle options including English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
If you’re into punishing combat, deep mechanics, and a bit of historical chaos, this is one of the heavier hitters of 2026—and with the current discounts, it’s a lot easier to justify jumping in.
