Moon Studios has officially rolled out the long-awaited co-op multiplayer update for No Rest for the Wicked, bringing shared adventures, persistent worlds, and a fresh layer of chaos to its dark action-RPG.
Revealed late last year and now live on PC via Steam Early Access, the Together update allows players to team up with up to three friends in shared Realms, blending Soulslike combat intensity with MMO-inspired social systems.
Shared Realms, Shared Pain
The headline feature of the Together update is its persistent shared Realms. These aren’t throwaway co-op sessions — worlds remain active and evolve over time, letting groups build, fight, and progress together.
Combat has been reworked to better support multiple players, with enemies now reacting more naturally when surrounded or overwhelmed. Expect smarter positioning, desperate last stands, and far fewer cheap-feeling encounters when fighting as a group.
Moon Studios has also added new hand-picked enemy placements throughout the world, ensuring even veteran players still run into unexpected surprises.
Downtime Matters Too
Co-op isn’t just about combat. Between expeditions, players can work together to build and customise housing, interact with newly reworked vendors, and manage shared spaces.
A simple but effective voting system has been added as well, allowing groups to keep disruptive players in check — a small but important quality-of-life addition for longer-term shared Realms.
Alongside the multiplayer overhaul, the update includes numerous general quality-of-life improvements, many of which were requested directly by the community.
Big Milestone, Bigger Moment
The launch of Together comes at a major moment for No Rest for the Wicked, which has now surpassed 1 million copies sold on Steam while still in Early Access.
To celebrate, the game is currently available at its lowest price yet, with a 40% discount on Steam, bringing it down to £23.99 / €23.99. There’s also a free play period running from January 22 at 10am PT through January 26 at 10am PT.
Moon Studios is also running exclusive Twitch Drops between January 22 and January 30, offering cosmetic items including the beautifully detailed Songkeeper and Champion’s Statue decorations.
Moon Studios Looking Ahead
Speaking on the update, Moon Studios CEO and game director Thomas Mahler described Together as a major milestone for the team, arriving just after the game’s sales success.
The studio continues to actively develop No Rest for the Wicked toward its full 1.0 release on PC, while also laying early groundwork for console versions.
As Moon Studios’ third full-length release — following Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps — No Rest for the Wicked continues to showcase the studio’s signature painterly art style, now paired with a darker, more brutal fantasy world.
With co-op finally in place, there’s never been a better time for new players to jump in — or for veterans to return to Isola Sacra with friends.
