The world of Old School RuneScape is growing even bigger today with the launch of the Kebos Lowlands. The new region is the first major release for the game since it became a multiplatform title following the launch of the mobile edition in October 2018.
In addition to the new town of Brimstone, the Kebos Lowlands includes a new monster – the multi headed hydra – as well as a new slayer dungeon, a farming guild, two new novice quests and brand-new rewards. The new frontiers of the lowlands represent the most diverse content mix since the launch of Old School RuneScape nearly six years ago, with low to high-level adventures for players to explore and complete.
Continuing Old School RuneScape’s player promise as part of its ‘living game’ mission, the introduction of the Kebos Lowlands was overwhelmingly backed by the game’s community following its announcement at RuneFest 2018, with over 95 percent of those participating in the poll supporting its development and release.
Mathew Kemp, Senior Product Manager, Old School RuneScape, said:
“Today’s launch marks an important milestone for Old School RuneScape as it pushes forward with new frontiers for players. Not only does the release of the Kebos Lowlands expand the game’s continent of Zeah, the very first expansion we brought to the game since its launch in 2013, but it’s also the first multiplatform expansion ever in a RuneScape game. With Old School’s sixth birthday just around the corner, Kebos Lowlands provides a great opportunity for newcomers and veterans to explore a new environment and defeat new monsters together.”
John Colgrave, Producer, Old School RuneScape, Mobile, said:
“Old School RuneScape on mobile has had a tremendous first few months since launch, and today’s release of Kebos Lowlands as the first multiplatform expansion for the game is yet another milestone for us as developers and the wider community to celebrate. It’s the latest step in providing a deep and meaningful MMO experience on the move or from the comfort of the sofa.”
