Owlcat Games is leveling up in a big way! Known for creating legendary RPGs like Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, the studio has now set its sights on becoming a major player in the publishing world. Their goal? To help indie developers from around the globe bring fresh RPGs and narrative-driven games to life.
Owlcat is kicking off this new chapter by signing deals with two promising indie studios—Emotion Spark Studio from Serbia and Another Angle Games from Poland. These partnerships are set to introduce some seriously exciting titles to the RPG scene.
Emotion Spark Studio is working on Rue Valley, a narrative RPG that throws players into a mind-bending time loop during a psychotherapy session. The game tackles deep mental challenges as the main character navigates through an anomaly, trying to uncover its mysterious origins.
Another Angle Games is crafting Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate history of feudal Japan. This immersive tale of samurai, honor, and allegiance features deep tactical turn-based combat and a world teeming with magical yokai and steampunk technology.
Both games are still in the early stages of development, but more details are expected later this month at gamescom.
In addition to these exciting new projects, Owlcat Games has also gained full control over META Publishing. This publishing label, which helped bring Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous to PC and consoles, will continue its focus on gameplay-first titles with co-op multiplayer features.
Stay tuned for more updates as Owlcat Games continues to shape the future of RPGs!
