B Site Inc has announced they will host Pop Flash as the final event in the VALORANT Ignition Series for 2020 for North America. This marks B Site’s very first event for VALORANT, the new 5v5 character-based tactical shooter from Riot Games, which is taking the gaming world by storm.
Pop Flash, produced in conjunction with FACEIT, will feature four days of competition spanning August 26-30, and will feature B Site founding teams Cloud9, Dignitas, Team Envy, Gen.G, and Immortals. Sentinels, T1, and TSM will round out the field competing for a $50,000 prize pool.
“We’re excited to join the VALORANT Ignition Series with Pop Flash. B Site is honoured that we can help to lay the foundation for a brand new global esport in a way that sets a standard for sustainability and future success,” says Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles, Vice President of Brand at B Site. “Pro team organizations are just beginning to find their footing in this new arena and events like this will be a crucial stepping stone for player recruiting and team development.”
Pop Flash’s all-star caster roster will include Christine “Potter” Chi, Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, Daniel “ddk” Kapadia and Erik “DoA” Lonnquist, with additional talent to be announced.
Teams will be split into two groups of four. There will be three days of group stage play and the top 2 teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs. The playoffs will be a Double Elimination bracket format between the final four teams.
For the safety of the players, production staff and the fans in the midst of the continuing Coronavirus health crisis, all events will take place online and the teams will be playing from their homes.
All events will all be streamed live on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/flashpoint and YouTube
