After an incredible response at this year’s gamescom in August, indie game publisher, United Label, is looking forward to giving the general public its very first chance to get hands-on with its critically acclaimed games Röki and Eldest Souls in London, Berlin and Paris.
The games will be at consumer-facing shows EGX London (Oct. 17th-20th), IndieCade Europe (Oct. 18th-19th), and EGX Berlin (Nov. 1st-3rd). Developed by Polygon Treehouse, Röki is a narrative adventure game inspired by Scandinavian folklore, while Eldest Souls – the first title from Fallen Flag Studios – is a fiendishly difficult souls-like boss rush.

Looking first to the ancient Scandinavian wilderness and its bewitching folklore creatures, Röki is a modern narrative adventure game with an alluring art style, atmospheric exploration and satisfying puzzles. Set for release this Winter on PC and Nintendo Switch, it’s developed by the talented team at Polygon Treehouse (newly named in Creative England’s CE50 list), co-founded by ex-Guerrilla Games art directors looking to make their mark with a unique, more personal story. To illustrate this, Polygon Treehouse has released two dev diaries, allowing fans to take a deeper dive into the lore and setting of Röki and as an exploration of the characters within the game.

On the other hand, Eldest Souls flips the souls-like genre on its head by offering up a straight-to-the-point pixelated boss rush gauntlet that’s deepened by a rich RPG progression system. This comes from the team at Fallen Flag Studios, who have been working closely with United Label since the project’s inception in order to realise their vision. Release date and platforms to be confirmed at a later date.
