Pearl Abyss has announced that a brand-new hero has been added to its action-packed PvP game Shadow Arena. After this week’s regular maintenance, the fearsome and deadly Igrid will enter the battlefield as a playable character. In addition, a two-week trial that unlocks all heroes for a limited time will be available.
Igrid is the 14th hero to enter Shadow Arena which is currently in Early Access on Steam. She is a female warrior who is specialised in close range combat and wields a gigantic axe and shield. As one can imagine, successful blows with her axe are very powerful and can instantly nullify an enemy’s defensive posture. Her shield is used for deflection, but can also be used to push enemies back.
Although Igrid is equipped with heavy armor and weaponry, she can be quite agile as well. Her jump attack can destroy enemy formations instantly, but most of her attacks, albeit powerful, leave her open for counter attack. Skilled players will enjoy the satisfaction when they’re able to effectively chain her deadly combos.
Pearl Abyss is hosting an ‘All Hero Free Event’ from August 12 up until the 26th of August. This temporarily unlocks all heroes and will allow Shadow Arena players to playtest each hero’s combat moves and skill set.
Last but not least, Shadow Arena’s spectator mode has been enhanced. Spectators can now quickly find the nearest player to watch at the press of a button, and the camera will automatically focus on another player once the original target that was being watched dies in-game.
