Based on classic Italian design and the dynamic contours drafted for sports cars, a new collection “Sharp by Pininfarina” will be formed for the European market.
Japanese innovation meets Italian design. Sharp, one of the world’s leading tech giants and electronics groups, and the legendary design studio Pininfarina have announced an extensive cooperation in the context of the International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA). The new Sharp by Pininfarina collection is inspired by classic Italian design and the dynamic contours of the sports cars drafted by Pininfarina. The collection initially includes premium products in the TV and audio area and will be available from the first half of 2019.
The renowned design studio Pininfarina has been epitomising sporty Italian elegance worldwide for more than 88 years. Launched as a body maker, masterpieces for luxury brands like Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati or German carmaker BMW are among their creations. Architectural landmarks like the futuristic Istanbul airport tower were also created by Pininfarina.
Pininfarina’s expertise in automotive, industrial and interior design is clear to see throughout the TV and audio products in the new Sharp by Pininfarina collection. Breathing new life into Sharp’s corporate motto, “Be Original”, clear, dynamic lines, elegant and distinctive forms, as well as innovative details reflect Pininfarina’s refinement and bring a touch of luxury and Italian style into the customer’s living room.
The elegant design of the Sharp by Pininfarina collection perfectly adds to Sharp’s vision to enhance its customers’ lives and encourage individuality through technological innovation. Collaborating with Pininfarina, the company now offers unique, beautifully designed TV and audio products that provide a promising alternative to market competitors.

As part of IFA 2018, both partners unveil the first showcases of their jointly developed products at the Sharp stand (hall 11.2, booth 103). These include three design variations for premium televisions, each underlining the premium brand collaboration and appealing to various groups of customers with a variety of distinct design accents. In the audio products segment, Sharp and Pininfarina are also presenting a soundbar, an all-in-one hi-fi system, a party speaker and a portable Bluetooth speaker.
