Sharp introduces a new range of cutting-edge products at IFA 2018 in Berlin and stages a comeback in the European audio market.
Offering soundbars with a high level of product diversity, Sharp caters for even the most varied customer requirements. Just in time for IFA 2018, Sharp presents attractively priced solutions with Dolby Atmos technology to the customer. Sharp also provides first-class digital radios, portable DAB devices and Bluetooth speakers in modern designs. Their new line of soundbars with dolby atmos included have turned audiophiles heads looking for high-fidelity audio gears. These soundbars produce high-quality sound that many might not be accustomed to listening to compressed audio formats.
Sharp has diversified its soundbar offering, with almost a dozen models ranging from the 100W Bluetooth-enabled entry-level model HT-SB106 to the 220W Wi-Fi 2.1 ALL-IN-ONE model HT-SBW420, awarded with the Red Dot Award 2018.
Re-entering into the European audio market, Sharp now introduces two appealing soundbar solutions with Dolby Atmos, that are convincing not only in terms of price. Portable DAB radio devices, digital and internet stereo radios and a number of mobile Bluetooth speakers compatible with Voice Assistants like Siri and Google Assistant complement the product portfolio. With its audio line-up, Sharp combines innovative technologies with chic designs which solve consumers’ needs.
Dolby Atmos soundbars with a wireless subwoofer
With its 3D surround sound technology, Dolby Atmos delivers the ultimate home theatre
experience with complete immersion into the movie. Until now, the technology for a spatial cinema experience was reserved for relatively high-end sound solutions only. Sharp now launches the soundbars HT-SBW460 and HT-SBW800 with 3.1 and 5.1.2 sound systems including a wireless subwoofer, which are affordable enhancements to every TV set at recommended retail prices of EUR 359 and EUR 559 respectively.
In addition to Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital are also supported. The soundbars can be controlled with the key menu on the device or with the remote control of the TV via HDMI ARC-CEC. They are equipped with two HDMI 2.0 inputs and a 4K-pass-through output. Furthermore, they are featured with an optical, a coaxial and AUX input, as well as with a USB interface for audio playback and updates and Bluetooth for wireless music streaming.
Both soundbars will be in stores by the end of 2018.
Portable radio reloaded
Design enthusiasts will be delighted at Sharp’s two new portable DAB radios which feature the retro look of portable radios in the seventies.
The retro radios may remind customers of the good old days with a body in wood-effect, telescopic aerial, and a metal handle. However, the interior accommodates state-of-the-art DAB technology. The DR-P350 and the stereo model DR-P355 deliver DAB/DAB+/FM reception with continuous RDS text display and an alarm with snooze button. Furthermore, the DR-P355 supports wireless streaming via Bluetooth. Up to 20 station keys can be pre-selected. The radios can be operated steadily with power cable or with battery. So, nothing can stop you now from having a stylish camping vacation with appropriate background music.
The portable DAB radios DR-P350 and DR-P355 will be available in January 2019 at recommended retail prices of EUR 89 and EUR 109 respectively.
For first-class sound at home, Sharp has different digital stereo radios/ internet radios in an elegant design with wooden body, aluminium front, and telescopic aerial on offer. The DR-I470 is the top model stereo internet and digital radio equipped with DAB/DAB+/FM and RDS/Bluetooth and a dimmable colour display showing clock time, alarm and the weather. 60 station keys can be preset individually. 27,000 internet radio stations have already been arranged into categories. With a remote control the operation can be easily done from your sofa.
The DR-I470 will be available in November at a recommended retail price of EUR 179.
Rich sound on the go and at home
Sharp’s wide-ranging audio line-up comprises partly splashproof (IP56) Bluetooth speakers with an output of 14 to 40W, that are available in multiple colours and partly supporting voice control via Siri (Apple) or Google Assistant. As an example, the portable GX-BT280 with DSP technology delivers crystal clear sound with 20W, high frequency boost, and a deep bass. The in-built rechargeable battery has a playtime of 12 hours. Calls can be answered hands-free.
Another portable Bluetooth speaker is the GX-BT480, which is also splashproof. With over 100dB the GX-BT480 delivers powerful and immersive sound with rich bass and a highly dynamic sonority. With an integrated equalizer, voice control and 20 hours of playtime, the speaker leaves nothing to be desired. Additionally, content can be played from micro SD cards or AUX playback.
The portable Bluetooth speakers GX-BT280 and GX-BT480 will be available by end of October 2018 at recommended retail prices of EUR 99 and EUR 159 respectively.
With the stunning bass performance and the built-in LED light show of the PS-940, party mood is just a push of a button away. Up to three playback devices can be connected to the speaker. Moreover, multiple PS-940 party speakers can be linked together. 14 hours playback time, the integrated DJ-Controller and microphone guarantee that every party becomes a blast.
The PS-940 party speaker will be available for a recommended retail price of EUR 249 in November 2018.
