Gaming peripheral giants, SteelSeries will be the exclusive peripheral sponsor of UK based esports organisation Barrage. The partnership will cover both of Barrage’s League of Legends teams currently competing in Dreamhack’s Northern League Championship & UK League Championship.
Barrage is one of the longer standing UK esports organisations, and one of very few based in the North of England. The organisation which has previously competed in a number of other esports titles and professional leagues including Rainbow Six: Siege, Smite, Hearthstone, Call of Duty, Rocket League and more, made the decision in 2019 to fully focus on League of Legends. Whilst 2019 did not go according to script, a renewed Barrage started 2020 in much stronger form, narrowly missing out on an EU Masters qualification to Fnatic Rising. Now, Barrage are looking to expand into new esports, improve on their content offering and provide a unique voice for the UK and wider esports audience.
Hal Greenwood, UK E-commerce & Marketing Manager at SteelSeries commented on the partnership:
“We are proud to partner up with Barrage in the UK. With the UK playing host to ESL One and the FACEIT Major, and the rise of UK esports in the past few years, there has never been a better time to be involved in British esports.”
Jeff Simpkins, Managing Director of Barrage, added:
“It’s an honour and privilege to be working with a globally recognised brand like SteelSeries. They have a history of working with incredible talent and teams and with their support we intend to follow in the footsteps of those who came before us. SteelSeries products provide the quality, performance and reliability our players need to achieve glory.”
