Whilst the summer months are usually a bit light in terms of new games releases, there are some that still shouldn’t be missed across all different platforms this summer.
Mario Tennis Aces is a tennis game made for the Nintendo Switch and involves playing matches of tennis with characters from the Super Mario Series. Such players you can play with are Daisy, Waluigi, Luigi, Boo, Spike, Peach, Mario, Wario and Toad to name a few. If you participate in monthly tournaments you will then be able to unlock new characters. Aces build on the Mario Tennis series with the addition of new mechanics to the game. There is also an online multiplayer mode in which tournaments can be set up, in addition to single matches and also a story mode, similar to the one found in Mario Tennis: Power Tour
Jurassic World Evolution is a business management game in which the player is required to build and maintain attractions as part of a theme park, which is full of terrible lizards and turns them into thriving enterprises. The park is a part zoo, part gateway to the past and part disaster waiting to happen. The game is based on 2015’s Jurassic World and is available on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Jurassic franchise has been a huge success in all spheres and there is no reason why it will not continue to be. Testimony to this is even in highly competitive markets like the online gaming industry it is still one of the top games for Microgaming; who is one of the most renowned game developers in the world.
Vampyr is a role play action game, played in the third person, released on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is based upon the story of a doctor called Jonathan Reid who has transformed into a vampire and how he comes to terms with his new state. He is now compelled to kill innocent people and before he can do this he must collect sufficient information about his targets. Dr. Reid must find a cure to save a whole city that is becoming ravaged by a deadly flu virus.
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is a platform video game that is a collection of remasters of the first three Crash titles: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped, which were all released between 1996 and 1998. The game was first released for PlayStation 4 but is now also available on Nintendo Switch, X-Box, and Microsoft Windows. Each game in this trilogy features Crash Bandicoot attempting to go through various levels to stop Doctor Neo Cortex taking over the world. Crash uses spinning and jumping techniques to defeat enemies along the way.
The Crew 2 is an open world racing game, that is available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Microsoft Windows and is the sequel to 2014’s The Crew. The game lets the player take on the American Motorsports scene, whilst exploring the whole country by land, air, and sea. There is a wide range of driving disciplines for the player to compete in, with cars, bikes, boats, and planes all available to use. If you are a fan of both racing games and the GTA series it is worth checking this out, as it has a similar feel to it with driving missions to complete in an open world, with the focus on becoming the best racer in the USA.
