Townscaper is more of a toy than a game. An experimental passion project from Oskar Stålberg (of Bad North, the minimalistic Viking RTS). Currently in Early Access on Steam, Townscaper has been met with an overwhelmingly positive reception over its simple mechanics, meditative gameplay, and idyllic visuals. Riding the wave of this initial success, Oskar is once again teaming up with publisher Raw Fury to bring the game to additional platforms. While already on PC and Mac, Townscaper is also coming to Mobile and Nintendo Switch before the end of this year.
Creating your own town has never been easier. Simply select a colour, plop some blocks onto the irregular grid and watch the game’s underlying algorithm automatically turn those blocks into cute little houses, arches, stairways, bridges and lush gardens, depending on their configuration.
Build quaint island towns with curvy streets. Craft small hamlets, towering cathedrals, canal networks, or soaring sky cities on stilts. Block by block. Piece by piece. No goal. Just plenty of building and plenty of beauty. That’s it.
Gameplay Features:
- No stress, no pressure – just build!
- Create picturesque island towns
- Sophisticated algorithms makes everything look beautiful all the time
- Peaceful and satisfying sound design
