Social video service Twitch today announced Twitch Creator Camp, a place where creators of all levels can go to learn the ins and outs of streaming. Twitch Creator Camp features an array of insights from successful creators including videos with a focus on the most frequent topics surfaced by Twitch’s creator community. There will also be weekly live video sessions where successful creators present best practices and interact with viewers in real-time. The first live broadcast will air on July 31st at 2:00 PM PT where a number of Twitch Partners will be answering general streaming questions. A calendar featuring upcoming live events is featured on the site.
Starting today, creators can find a host of content spanning the following topics that provide best practices for broadcasting on Twitch:
- Learn the Basics
To start building a channel, creators need a solid foundation. This is where successful creators cover the basics from setting up a channel page to other best practices for getting started.
- Level Up
This section focuses on what comes next after a creator’s channel page is up and running and they are feeling comfortable on camera. This includes learning how to build their brand on social media, leveraging stats about their stream, and making the most of emotes, badges, and extensions.
- Connect and Engage
Twitch is nothing without its community. Here creators will learn how to define and build their own community, including insider tips on how to better understand their audience, networking with other streamers, and engaging with their fans to keep them coming back.
- Get Rewarded
Earning on Twitch is a drive for a number of creators, so it’s important for them to make the most of their time on and off stream to generate revenue. To assist with this goal, popular creators provide tips on how to optimize subscriptions, merchandise, ads, and sponsorships to help them make a living sharing what they love.

“Hosting a good stream isn’t easy. We’ve heard from many of our creators that they spend a lot of time searching for advice on effective tools, features, and techniques in order to make their broadcasts more engaging and to grow their communities,” said Jessica Messinger, Creator Growth Marketing Manager, Twitch. “Twitch Creator Camp makes things simpler by centralizing the most relevant information to a creator’s success, all of which is provided by Twitch and many of our successful Partners. We want to help our creators succeed and this is just the beginning.”
