Amazon Prime Video is celebrating the launch of the eagerly awaited Twitch Watch Party in the UK, a platform for creators to connect with their community whilst they enjoy their favourite movies or TV shows on Prime Video.
With Watch Parties, creators can kick back, relax, and connect with their community while enjoying their favourite movies or TV shows on Prime Video.
- Watch what you love: Enjoy new movies and TV shows, indie favourites, cult classics, and more with Prime Video.
- Share the screen: Your webcam appears in the video player above Chat so your community can watch you react to every joke and scare.
- Invite your global community: Viewers around the world can participate in Watch Parties if the title is available with a Prime or Prime Video subscription in their region.
- Feel the love: Your viewers can show their support like they normally would with Bits and Subs.
Here’s how you can get started with Watch Parties today:
- Add the Watch Party Quick Action to your Stream Manager
- Connect Watch Parties to your Prime or Prime Video account
- Choose the Prime Video movie or TV show you want to watch with your community
- Go live with your webcam and mic
- Start your Watch Party and enjoy with your community. Snacks: highly encouraged.
“One of the things that was most important to us in building Watch Parties was providing streamers with a new way to connect with their community and we’ve seen an emerging trend of streamers using Watch Parties as a way to unwind.” Commented Jeremy Forrester, Head of Creator Product. “Instead of a streamer needing to actively play a game or entertain their audience, they can take a break to watch a quick TV show or two with their community or even add a regular movie night to their stream schedule.”
Prime Video is continuing to develop this experience by working on making Watch Parties viewable on mobile devices, a feature they expect to roll out in the coming months. For more details on the feature and tips for getting started, check out the Watch Party help page.
