YouTube sensation and JD’s very own WillNE says he “hates” Jake Paul but admits he has nothing to lose in a potential clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
The influencer was speaking to Chuckie on the latest drop of JD’s In the Duffle Bag podcast when he gave his view on fellow internet star Jake Paul and the prospect of him fighting ex-MMA Ben Askren and former world heavyweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.
WillNE, 24, said: “But they’ve done it, man, if you stick your mind to it and you’ve got that much attention and it makes sense (to fight).
“I hate Jake Paul with every fibre of my being but you say he’s fighting traditional celebrities I kind of want him to win.”
Chuckie went on to ask WillNE if he thinks Jake Paul would claim the W against former MMA fighter Ben Askren, to which the North East lad replied:
“I think he will beat Ben Askren in terms of stand up – Ben Askren stand up is supposed to be awful – and then it like legitimizes it right, if he beats an actual fighter.
WillNE added he thinks Jake Paul is too good to fight fellow celebrities but perhaps won’t make the cut against the former professionals, saying: “I saw a post yesterday how they both got professional licenses – like KSI got one, Jake got one – to fight without head guards to be professional.
“They were saying the commission didn’t want to commission fights with Jake against just like normal celebrities now – like you know when he clarted Nate Robinson – like he’s getting to the point where it’s getting dangerous now to commission Jake against someone in their first fight.
“He’s in a kind of weird position there, I don’t like the bloke but I want to see how far it goes.”
Despite this, WillNE believes its the veteran fighters who have the most to lose from any match-up, with their career and rep on the line: “It’s such a risk for them lot (professional fighters), I don’t know why you’d take that but it must be a huge payday.
“If you get beaten by the f***ing Vine kid its done right that’s your whole career.
“If it goes bad for Jake Paul, he could just pivot ‘oh I’ll do music’; if you’re a fighter and you get beaten by the Vine kid, it’s done.”
