The game refines what was started in episode 1 by having jokes never quite getting to the shock value of crudeness that the first started out with. The game continues where you left Hector in his quest to save the hostages from sniper in an abandoned building. The game visits various locations; from a church turned strip club, to a gun shop that also provides manicures and other beauty services.
This time round you can also spend a little time playing as Lambert and switching between him and Hector to solve some puzzles. It makes a nice change and has a different set of dialogue to the gruff and sarcastic Hector.
Graphically it carries the same sort of cartoon aesthetic as the first and everything is still just as sharp as before.
Story wise it is better written and has less of a shock value for the jokes but it does still have a very dark and crude sense of humour; not overly crude but at a nice level that will make you cringe one moment and laugh uncontrollably the next.
Overall
Just as long as the first but sharper dialogue and not being as crude as the first means it trumps the first episode. The puzzles aren’t particularly hard which is the same as the first but they all seem fair and you won’t feel cheated in how puzzles are solved like some games do. If you didn’t enjoy the first one though; this isn’t likely to change your mind.

I enjoyed both games but this one really improves on the first in terms of writing and genuinely made me laugh a lot. The puzzles aren’t that difficult and the game will last a few hours at most but considering the price for the entire series it’s definitely worth picking up.
