RuneScape sees the return on the rarest item in its 20 year history as The Golden Party Hat Hunt begins today and lasts until 3 January 2022.
The original Party Hats were exclusively available to players two decades ago in RuneScape’s 2001 Christmas event. They have since become a valuable piece of in-game memorabilia reaching a value of 2.1 billion gold in 2015 – the maximum value tradable in a single transaction on RuneScape’s Grand Exchange.
Today’s launch of The Golden Party Hat Hunt gives RuneScape members the chance to earn what could become a tradable rare item.
Also launching today is the conclusion of RuneScape’s multi-part 20th anniversary quest. The fourth and final part of the anniversary quest, Once Upon a Time, which has run across 2021, explores RuneScape’s past, present, and future.
