Howdy! 24 years old, graduated from Sunderland University in 2011 with a degree in TV and Radio Production, and to get it I just had to present and produce radio shows and write scripts. I did really well, I went to New York to pick up a swanky international award, but still I'm trapped in my hometown yet to start my career, but it's not all bad really, I'm getting married in the near future so that's pretty awesome :) Working at the moment as a kid's activity and sport coach at a top Gym & Spa complex. As well as having a great joy in playing video games, I am also a huge wrestling nut, even went to New Orleans for Wrestlemania 30, I even bumped into Rob Van Dam and Hacksaw Jim Duggen on Bourbon Street coming out of a Gentleman's Club together, what a weekend! Also if anyone lives in the North West, make sure you head to Preston once a month, PCW is the greatest wrestling promotion in the UK! Finally, I'm an aspiring children's author! Currently I have penned 12 original poems and 3 original stories and I hope to have the first of many books published soon, watch this space! Favourite game of all time: Dragon Quest VIII - Journey Of The Cursed King (PS2, 2006)

The Controller People – A Review of their Modded Controller

“Setting the new standard for custom PS4 controllers” is a bold statement I’m sure you’ll agree.  Even more so when it’s elaborated on, that the innovative controllers being referred to are “setting a new standard in comfort and design”.  Both…

Get Even Review – A master class in storytelling and building tension

I’m sure we can all think of a ‘thriller’ which has failed to thrill, much like a horror title that made you piss yourself with laughter rather than crap yourself with terror. I find the worst offenders are ‘psychological thrillers’,…

Tekken 7 Review

I can count all the franchises from my childhood that have stood the test of time on one hand, Tekken being one of them.  Tekken 2 was one of the first video games that blew my mind when 6-year-old me…

Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island Review

In this day and age when dozens of new video games are churned out every week, it’s understandable that originally can be difficult to find.  Some games are, or at least considered, to be ‘replicas’ or ‘cheap knock-offs’, and unfortunately…

Seasons After Fall Console Review

Normally in my opening paragraph I’ll try and insert some vaguely relatable gags or witty observations to showcase my skills and humour as a writer.  But there won’t be anything like that here.  This is the first truly selfless article…

Dreamfall Chapters Review

Considering how much I go on about it in my articles, I’ve considering changing my name to Phil “Narrative” Dean.  Or perhaps that’s a new trend setting name to give to my first-born child?  To me what makes a successful…

Mantis Burn Racing – Snowbound Review

When reviewing the game last October, I honestly didn’t think a top down racing game would have me so torn. “Mantis Burn Racing isn’t the most exciting racing game you’ll ever play” I said in reference to the game’s minimalistic…

Mantis Burn Racing – Elite Class Review

When reviewing the game last October, I honestly didn’t think a top down racing game would have me so torn. “Mantis Burn Racing isn’t the most exciting racing game you’ll ever play” I said in reference to the game’s minimalistic…

Herald: An Interactive Period Drama – Books I & II Review

Not every story needs to revolve around sex, murder and zombies to be enjoyable.  Likewise, not every story set on a Colonial trading ship needs to feature drunks & debauchery, which was something I only recently discovered upon the release…

Urban Trial Freestyle 2 Review

Some may say an hour-long commute to work sounds like a pain, and in truth it is, but it means I’m able to dust of my 3DS each morning and keep my anxiety at bay for a little bit.  With…
