War Child UK returns with RE-PLAY, the unique fundraising campaign that shines a light on the giants of old and reconnects gamers with favourite titles from their formative years, supporting the right to play for some of the world’s most vulnerable children.
From 5th-11th April, a variety of activities will take place, from an in-game celebrity disco and a retro-inspired Steam sale, to leading comedians and gaming personalities playing their favourite games live on Twitch.
Join War Child UK for a retro-gaming livestream, hosted by Mark “Turps” Turpin from The Yogscast, and transport yourself back in time. Turps will be joined by star guests such as comedians Nish Kumar and Steve McNeil, Blake Harrison, famously known as Neil Sutherland from The Inbetweeners, as well as Radderss & Geestar from The Yogscast, and famed games crew Outside Xbox/Outside Xtra.

A number of retro titles from acclaimed studios such as Devolver, DoubleFine, Dotemu, Motion Twin, Kongregate, Oddworld Inhabitants, SEGA HARDlight and team17 will have some of their illustrious titles on Steam or Mobile at a discount, with a percentage of proceeds donated to War Child. Halfbrick, the creators of Dan The Man, is also making a fixed donation of $5,000 USD.
The RE-PLAY sale celebrates all things retro; from classics to modern pixel-art titles running from 5th–11th April and can be found on the Steam store.
Terraria by RE-LOGIC, Stories Untold by Devolver / No Code are donating 100% of developer proceeds on Steam and Kongregate is donating 100% of net revenue of Bit Heroes from specific in-app purchases on all platforms; AppStore, Google Play, Steam and the Kongragate store.
War Child UK has also partnered with Lockwood, creators of Avakin Life, the hugely popular free-to-play 3D mobile app where players can customise their avatars and socialise and party with friends, all in a huge online community. Avakin Life and War Child UK will play host to an exclusive retro themed disco party within the game, with arcade machines and light up floors. Players can enter the private party by having their avatar don a War Child Peace & Love T-shirt, designed by British design sensation Bella Freud which they can purchase in-game, with proceeds going to the charity.
