E-Win Champion Series Gaming Chair Review

Another Gaming chair you might be asking, well this time I needed one as the Team Dignitas from AKRacing is sort of old and has some damage, but I am hoping to get that fixed in time, for now, let us move on to the new E-Win Champion Series Gaming Chair. If you have yet heard of E-Win they recently announced their first eSport partnership with Bloody Gaming, but if you need to know more about them here you go;

Gaming Chairs are all the rage now, you see them being used at gaming expos, esports events, even streamers, and youtube stars have one to sit on, so one not the average gamer, like you or me. Now they are not cheap, take for example this one, which costs €299 / £263.00 / $345.00. Did your heart just sink, mine used to, as the price was so high and there was no way I could afford one on a student wage, so I had to really save hard. When I first got my first ever gaming chair I was so happy, it was extremely comfortable, well designed and only cost £169.99, yes, I went for a cheap one, I just could not wait. Then I got a job and I was able to afford a High-End gaming chair and that was my AKRacing one and I have never looked back since they are well worth the price and offer a level of comfort other chairs simple do not.

So let’s move on and have a look at this new chair I have ordered for myself. Now, this is what you get in the post, a huge box with E-Win printed on the side, and if you are unsure that they have sent you the correct chair, you can just check the side. Now I have ordered the E-Win Europe Champion Series CPH Gaming Chair, Black and White. I want it plain and simple with two different textures, and this was the only one that offered the style I rather liked look of.

After getting the box up a flight of stairs into the office, noting the weight 25 bloody KGS, I need a coffee and a short rest, then it was time to unbox and check out what I had ordered.

I am 5ft 4inches and weigh around 80.5kg, a short tubby dude you could say, and the size of this chair is perfect for me in every way, width, backrest height, armrest positioning, everything felt, just about right. Its brand new, so going from a chair I have sat my rear-end on for some time, to this brand new one is going to take a little getting used to.

I have built one of these chairs before, and even now they can be a little bit of a pain to assemble, but after around 15mins I was done and dusted.

First, you assemble the Starbase, which just means attaching the wheels, placing the gas cylinder into the hole and added the Gas Cylinder cover. Then you turn to the seat and attach the seat mount by removing the four screws on the seat, place the mount correctly making note of the front and back written clearly on the mount so you attach it the correct way. Then grab the backrest and remove the screws on both sides, this was something I did not do until I realised I was being stupid. You then attach the backrest to the seat, once in place attach the side covers to hide the screws and then attach the cap to side cover to hide the cover screw. The use all your strength to attach the seat to your finished starbase and you’re done.

This chair is made using top grain leather, there are two types of grain leather one which is called full grain leather which is extremely expensive and keeping the price down is impossible as there is not much available. Then we have top grain leather which is normally sanded and buffed to give a nice smooth finish, it can also be superimposed with a pattern, which helps the leather last for some time. However, all the changes will reduce the strength of the leather.

Just look at the design and quality of the leather finish on this chair, impressive right. There are two types of finished leather here, one being smooth, buffed with the grain still viable, the other being superimposed with a pattern, buffed and extremely shiny. The two tones of leather contrast really well and compliment each other.

The below picture is the view of the backrest which comes with a neck cushion which well helps rest the neck during the long gaming sessions, streaming, competitive events or anything else you can think of doing with your chair, for me it is simply gaming and typing. Then you have a lumbar cushion which helps you keep your posture and protects the lower back. Some people do not like the lumbar cushion, but I can tell you now, ever since I have used them my back feels much better sitting down for long periods of time.

You will find plenty of branding, the E-WIN logo is on the front and back of the backrest, the lumbar cushion, neck cushion and on the right-hand side of the backrest where the leaver is to tilt.

Now tilting is fun and the backrest can literally drop totally flat, so if you fancy some time staring at the ceiling you can, I can think of other things you can do, but I will leave that to your imagination. There are a number of different angles you can tilt the backrest into and each angle has a locked position.  The Gas cylinder is a class 4 which will hold up to 150kg / 331lbs that’s just under 24stone and will allow the chair to be heightened or lowered based on your preferred height. So what I am simply saying here is, you can do a lot more than game, stream on these chairs.

Moving to the armrests and what the industry class as 4D, this simply means the armrest can rotate, slide forwards, backwards, side to side and up and down, so you can truly get that perfect position to rest your arm in. This is new to me as the AKRacing Gaming chair armrests only went up and down, nothing else, but they do have grooves in them so your arm felt comfortable and sort of hugged. These new armrests offer a lot more, but there are no grooves, so you are is simply resting on a flat surface. In a way, they have improved on the design but they lack refinement and that finishing touches.

The whole chair is constructed with a durable steel frame and high-density memory foam for the backrest and seating. You also have a number of plastic parts and PU Leather for the armrests. The whole design is exquisite, and I love the two tones of leather being used. The only real improvement I can see is by adding grooves to the armrests so your arms feel hugged /comfortable as a flat surface just does not offer this. There are a number of Computer Gaming Chairs out there from a number of manufacturers, E-Win is just one of them and from I have seen so far, their chairs shine quality, good design and will offer years of comfort.

I have used this chair now for over 48hrs, and I have to say it is truly comfortable. The neck and Lumbar cushions are as good as they have always been and help protect your lower back and neck. The only complain I have is no grooves on the armrests and I can not fussed yet, putting my arms on a flat surface, give it time that will posibly change.
