Fernando Alonso welcomes Fernando Perpinan to his new eRacing team with Logitech G and G2 Esports

Winner named at the final of the international FA Racing Logitech G Challenge was held in Logitech G’s stand at Mobile World Congress 2018 where Fernando Alonso’s new McLaren F1 car is showcased

The global leader in PC and console gaming gear, Logitech G, and the Spanish driving legend, Fernando Alonso, brought the magic of Formula 1 to Mobile World Congress 2018 with the final of the FA Racing Logitech G Challenge.

This international competition launched by FA Racing, the official esports league PlayStation®League, and Logitech G, brought thousands of racing enthusiasts together. Ten talented finalists competed at Logitech G’s stand on Tuesday for a prestigious opportunity to become part of the recently launched eRacing team, FA Racing G2 Logitech G.

After several hotly contested rounds, 19-year-old Fernando Perpiñán “Perpi” Ochando from Spain was proclaimed the winner. For Perpi, “eRacing competitions push you to get better and to continuously keep practicing. To see any improvement you need to be constant and train a lot”. Perpiñán will join Fernando Alonso’s team to get ready to participate in the forthcoming leagues and competitions.

After the final, Fernando Alonso presented Perpiñán with a trophy and highlighted the importance of esports and simulators. “You can now start competing in the virtual world and move on to real life racing, or the other way around. Possibilities are limitless, as no one knows exactly how far esports can go!”
