The Gfinity Elite Series Season 4 finals reached a dramatic conclusion this weekend as Rocket League favourites, Method stood victorious and claimed first place against rivals Fnatic. The season drew to a close as Vitality celebrated a famous win against ExceL for the Street Fighter V crown, bringing the Gfinity Elite Series Season 4 to an epic finish.
The finals took place at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London and was streamed live to millions of viewers on the Gfinity Facebook page.
After eight weeks of adrenaline-fueled moments and shocking results, Rocket League kicked off the final day of the Elite Series Season 4 tournament. Both Method and Fnatic were level pegging at until Method rallied in game 5, taking the lead in game 6 and stormed through to be crowned the Elite Series champions.
After a season of Hadouken’s and Sonic Boom’s, Vitality and ExceL threw down in the Elite Series Season 4 Street Fighter V grand final!
Vitality got off to an early start with another amazing show from Clément ‘Verdoyance’ Devos and Florent ‘Linkexelo’ Dubois. However, ExceL’s Claude-Eric ‘Hurricane’ Diboti turned the tables, wining the next 3 games and achieving a perfect KO.
Finally, it was down to the final match between DC ‘Infexious’ Coleman and Ilker ‘TKR’ Dovanci, but it was Vitality’s night as they came out on top with a final score of 4-3.
News of Method and Vitality taking top place in each of their games to join Fnatic as back-to back FIFA champions rounds-off the Elite Series Season 4 winners for this season.
Rocket League winner, Robert ‘Pughy’ Pugh from team Method said, “we could not be happier to have won the Elite Series. There was some really tough competition this season and everyone put their heart and souls into fighting for their team week in and week out. We can’t wait to battle it out again next season!”
Street Fighter V winner’s manager, Michael ‘Gregan’ Ellis from Vitality said, “The last eight weeks have been so much fun and a showcase of hardwork and teamwork for all of us at Vitality. We have gone up against some of the world’s best Street Fighter players and have grown professionally and as a team so this is the best feeling to have won.”
