It’s a big moment for RPG fans. Gothic, the культ classic that first launched back in 2001, has officially turned 25 — and to celebrate, there’s a wave of new announcements for both longtime fans and newcomers.
From a mobile release to fresh merch and the long-awaited remake, THQ Nordic is going all-in on the anniversary celebrations.
Gothic Is Coming to iOS
One of the biggest surprises is that the original Gothic is heading to iOS devices later this year.
While full details are still under wraps, including pricing and a release date, this marks the first time the iconic RPG will be playable on mobile — opening it up to a whole new audience.
If done right, this could be a great way to experience the harsh, immersive world of the Colony on the go.
New Anniversary Merch for Fans and Collectors
To mark the 25-year milestone, a brand-new line of Gothic merchandise is also on the way.
Highlights include:
- Limited Scavenger Figurine (only 500 available)
- Imitation leather map of the Valley of Mines from the remake
- Gothic Classic Sketchbook featuring 176 pages of original artwork from concept artist Ralf Marczinczik
This drop is clearly aimed at collectors and hardcore fans, with some genuinely cool pieces tied to the game’s history.
