Iction Games today announced the launch of the Indiegogo campaign for John Mambo – a pixel art arcade game with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour. Inspired by action films from the 80s and 90s, John Mambo is an isometric arcade game in which you play a one-man army on a mission… to pacify the world.
Spanish indie developer Iction Games are seeking an initial target of €15,000 to fund development of John Mambo, which is expected to be released in 2018. Initially set for a Windows, Mac and Linux release, the game will also be launched on Xbox One and PS4 as future stretch goals.
Set to run for 30 days, the John Mambo Indiegogo campaign is scheduled to launch on Thursday 1st March 2018. Backers can pledge for a range of awards, including a copy of the game, exclusive t-shirts and even a custom-made VHS box featuring the game.
John Mambo is Iction Games first major release, and the result of many years spent in arcades and in their bedrooms, playing classics such as Ikari Warriors, Cannon Fodder, Commando and Metal Slug. Stretch goals for the project include co-operative multiplayer mode, more release platforms, more in-game mechanics and much more.
