Nearly 11 years after the original Life is Strange, iconic characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price are set to reunite in the upcoming full-length adventure, Life is Strange Reunion. Square Enix announced the game today during a livestream, confirming it will launch on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on Windows.
For those who missed it, the announcement livestream can be watched here.
A Deadly Fire and a Race Against Time
In Life is Strange Reunion, players revisit Caledon University, where Max now works as a photography teacher. After a weekend away, Max returns to find the campus engulfed in flames, destroying the lives of her friends, students, and faculty. Max only survives thanks to her Rewind power, the supernatural ability to reverse time introduced in the original game.
Jumping back in time through a selfie, Max has just three days to uncover the cause of the fire and prevent the disaster. But she won’t be alone – Chloe Price arrives at Caledon, a shocking consequence of Max merging timelines at the end of Life is Strange Double Exposure. Haunted by nightmares of a past she never lived, Chloe’s grip on reality is unravelling, and she needs Max’s help.
Play as Max and Chloe
For the first time in the series, players will alternate between Max and Chloe, experiencing the story from both perspectives. Max uses her Rewind power to undo decisions, manipulate conversations, and solve four-dimensional environmental puzzles. Chloe’s Backtalk ability and take-no-prisoners attitude allow her to influence key characters and access areas Max cannot.
The game continues the series’ signature grounded, character-driven storytelling, with meaningful choices shaping the narrative and culminating in a dramatic finale to the Max and Chloe saga.
