Mixer has shared their commitment and plans to continue prioritising Mixer’s community and streamers as they continue to celebrate the two-year anniversary of Mixer. As part of this, they are announcing seven new programs and tools aimed at maintaining a strong Mixer community and 4 new initiatives focused on supporting streamer success on Mixer. The Mixer community is positive, welcoming and supportive, and you have consistently provided insightful feedback, ideas and support. Likewise, Mixer streamers are the reason we’re all here – every day, they work hard and bring their very best selves to entertain us, to teach us and to build connections with us all across Mixer.
Some of the new programs and tools aimed at reducing harmful content and toxic behaviour include:
- Updated Mixer Rules of User Conduct
Alongside adjusting the Mixer channel page to make it conspicuous and easy to report abuse right from the player window, updates have been made to the Mixer Rules of User Conduct to expressly prohibit terrorist and violent extremist content, including the reporting of inappropriate content, the inclusion of violent or extremist content, or violations of Mixer’s Rules of User Conduct.
- New Streamer Review system
To improve validation and monitoring of new streamers on Mixer a new Streamer Review system has been introduced which requires an account to be at least 24-hours old before it is capable of camera streaming. The initial part of this system will go into place on August 31.
- New Toxicity Screen
A new Toxicity Screen system provides streamers with information and control over interactions on their channel through new filtering options. This feature will also increase control over chat participation, including more automated moderation tools and restricted chat modes. This will be coming later this year.
Other new settings include a new Moderator Program, changes to the insights provided by Streamer Analytics and the introduction of a Streamer Progression dashboard.
