Many of you most likely never heard of Octahedron, I only heard about is a few weeks back. Well the game is a rhythm-synced platformer brought to us by Square Enix Collective and Developed by indie studio Demimonde.
The game is a 2D Platformer with a beat to boot, the idea is simple, escape the strange subterranean world of Veetragoul, while creating your own platforms in quick time to survive the scores of enemies that are after you. Confused a little? just watch the trailer, you will understand.
The Game will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, sorry switch owners, not with you yet. The games runs at 60FPS and comes with a banging soundtrack from omposer Chipzel and trance producer and DJ Andre Sobota, amongst others.
“With a genre like the platformer, managing to do something genuinely new is an immense challenge, but when we came across Octahedron and its creator Marco Guardia, we knew that here was a game destined to be different,” says Phil Elliott, Director of Indie Publishing at Square Enix™ West. “It’s one of those games that has to be played to be believed. The juxtaposition of the game’s soundtrack tying in with the on screen action really engages players in a way few titles can manage.”
“The opportunity to bring together two of the things I love the most – games and music – is one I couldn’t resist,” comments Guardia. “Working as part of Flutlicht almost two decades ago was an amazing, creative time, and Octahedron has been similarly challenging and, I think, similarly rewarding. It’s my hope that people who have no interest in trance music or electronica at all will find just as much joy in play as those who have been dancing for years.”
Game is available for £9.99/$12.99/€12.99
