Paradox Interactive has an important update regarding Prison Architect 2: the release date is shifting from May 7th to September 3rd.
Following rigorous stability tests on our latest version, Paradox Interactive encountered unexpected issues, particularly on lower-spec configurations. To identify the problem, Paradox Interactive focused on optimizing memory usage to address these concerns. While successful in improving performance on lower-end machines and consoles, this overhaul introduced new technical challenges, leading to increased crashes on other PC setups. Addressing these issues diverted resources from polishing the game, impacting our final development phase.
Despite having a certified version ready for release, Paradox Interactive believes it’s crucial to ensure an optimal gaming experience for all players. With the rich legacy of Prison Architect and its devoted community in mind, we’re committed to delivering the best sequel possible without compromise.
