Project Motor Racing has officially launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, delivering one of the most ambitious sim racing releases in years. Published by GIANTS Software and developed by Straight4 Studios, the game arrives with full mod support across every platform – a first for the genre – allowing players to create and share content on day one.
The launch trailer showcases the sim’s focus on motorsport authenticity, with a physics engine shaped by real racing drivers and a driving experience built around the high tension, high consequence world of professional racing.
A Brutal Motorsport Career Experience
Project Motor Racing’s single-player mode throws drivers into a career that mirrors the unforgiving realities of real motorsport. Blown budgets, repair bills and risky overtakes can make or break an entire season. The aim isn’t just to finish first – it’s to survive.
For those who want to compete against the world, Ranked Cross-Play Multiplayer allows racers on all platforms to compete on equal footing with:
- Physics parity across PC and console
- Two competitive leaderboards
- No-fee custom lobbies
Newcomers can ease into the experience with assist options, AI tuning and refined gamepad controls, while sim veterans will find precise handling backed by a 720 Hz simulation loop and detailed force feedback modelling.
70 Cars, 28 Tracks, and 50 Years of Racing History
From modern LMDh prototypes to beloved GT heroes and touring legends, Project Motor Racing spans five decades of racing heritage with 70 factory-built machines from:
- Audi
- BMW
- Lamborghini
- Mazda
- Mercedes
- Nissan
- Porsche
- Toyota
- And more
Races unfold across 28 laser-scanned layouts, including icons such as:
- Spa-Francorchamps
- Mount Panorama
- Daytona
- The Nürburgring and Nordschleife
With the True2Track surface model, each corner evolves with rubber, marbles, grip change and dynamic wear, bringing a deeper layer of realism to every lap.
Full Modding Support – Even on Console
Project Motor Racing has arrived with modding baked into its foundation. Using the official GIANTS Editor and the in-game UGC Portal, creators can submit content directly on both PC and consoles – from standalone cars and liveries to setups and custom events.
At launch, the first community-made mods are already live, including a full GTO 250 km Daytona recreation. The first manufacturer-supported DLC also drops today as Praga debuts the Bohema hypercar, available for players to download at no cost.
A Game Built with Passion
“Project Motor Racing was created by people who love this sport and shaped by a community that cares just as much,” says Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios. “We hope it gives racers the same sense of connection and excitement it gave us – something true to the sport we all love.”
With modding freedom, physics depth and a punishing motorsport career mode, Project Motor Racing is positioning itself as one of the most ambitious simulation racers of the generation – and its journey is only just beginning.
