Back in August Psyonix announced that Crates will be leaving Rocket League by the end of this year. So what’s going to be replacing Crates? Well, they just revealed that the new system replacing all Crates in a December game update will be Blueprints. Once a Blueprint is obtained after playing a match, players will be able to see what item can be created by it and pay a set price to obtain the item.
The December game update will also introduce a brand new Item Shop that will have a rotating inventory of new items, legacy crate content, and more. In addition, Keys will be replaced with Credits, a new premium currency that can be used on creating items from Blueprints and obtaining items in the Item Shop. Once the December game update goes live, Blueprints will automatically replace all remaining Crates in a player’s inventory and all unused Keys will be converted to Credits.
There is of course a ton more information about the Blueprints System and Item Shop Psyonix will share in the coming weeks and months, but please read the latest blog post for info about both HERE
