Which Characters Will Return for Battle?
Nintendo revealed that every character from the Super Smash Bros. universe will return for Ultimate. This includes echo fighters, or character with similar moves such as Lucina and Dark Pit, as well as DLC characters such as Ryu and Cloud. However, gamers can also expect to see a couple of new characters. Daisy will make her debut as Peach’s echo fighter and you can catch the Inklings from the Splatoon. Probably the most anticipated character joining the battle though is Ridley. Metroid villain, Ridley was revealed by game director Masahiro Sakurai as becoming a playable fighter in the game. He will be able to use both his fists and his tails to fight but will also use blasts of fire as his final smash.
Where Can Players Fight?
One of the best parts of the Super Smash Bros. series has been the location of the battles. The stages teleport gamers to some of their favorite games and bring them to life in an all-out “battle royale”. Although Nintendo hasn’t released a list of stages yet, some stages have been officially confirmed. Spirit Train and Tortimer Island from the 3DS version of the game are expected to make a comeback as well as Princess Peach’s Castle, Great Bay, New Pork City, Frigate Orpheon, and Mario Galaxy. There will also be at least two new stages added. Great Plateau Tower will be a new level based on the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and players will also be able to travel to Splatoon’s Moray Towers.
When Can Gamers Join the Battle?
The world of gaming has long awaited the return of Super Smash Bros. and it looks like gamers won’t have to be waiting for much longer. At E3 2018, Nintendo announced that Smash Bros. Ultimate will hit stores on December 7th, 2018. However, you can save some money by looking out for discount codes and preordering the game early.
