In celebration of Pride month, LBGTQ+ owned Tangle Teezer is launching a limited, charity edition Compact Styler. The rainbow adorned hairbrush celebrates inclusivity and love, while retaining its portable size and patented two-tiered detangling teeth system.

The hairbrush will be available from lookfantastic for £14.
Tangle Teezer will also be donating £10,000 to LGBTQ+ charity AKT, which helps LGTBQ+ youth in a time of crisis – from finding safe housing, to advice on employment and education – and £36,000 to the Stonewall Community Foundation. Stonewall donates funds to LGBTQ+ youth organisations across the US and overseas, funding everything from youth theatres to helping LGBTQ+ refugees.
Over half of LGBTQ+ young people AKT spoke to said that before becoming homeless, their family members stopped them from expressing their sexuality. Tangle Teezer is taking a stand against this, working together with AKT on a campaign called #PowerToBeMe. The series of videos shares powerful messages from members of the LGBTQ+ community on their relationship with their hair, revealing how it’s so integral to their self-expression and identity.
Participants in the campaign include Reeta Loi, music artist and founder of campaign group, Gaysians. She discusses how growing up in traditional Indian family meant she was forced to choose between being gay and her family. She reveals how using different hair styles allows her to express her personality, and how liberating and important it was to be able to do this whilst exploring her sexuality.
Tangle Teezer’s very own founder, Shaun P, is also involved. Living in 70s London, he was inspired by the Punk Rock movement which gave him the confidence to own his identity.
