Deezer has revealed that the Force is strong with The Empire Strikes Back. The critically acclaimed Star Wars film is the Star Wars soundtrack that Deezer’s UK HiFi users love the most.* It beat other fan favourites such as A New Hope and The Force Awakens to the top spot.
In honour of Star Wars Day, global music streaming service, Deezer, reveals the most streamed HiFi soundtracks from the Star Wars series. In order of popularity, the most played were:
- The Empire Strikes Back
- A New Hope
- The Force Awakens
- The Rise of Skywalker
- The Phantom Menace
- Revenge of the Sith
- Attack of the Clones
- The Last Jedi
- Return of the Jedi
The Empire Strikes Back has claimed the top spot largely thanks to one of the most iconic Star Wars tracks of all time: The Imperial March. This ominous classic is synonymous with Darth Vader, Star Wars’ most infamous villain.
Star Wars fans that appreciate superior audio quality get to relive the films’ magic moments again and again when listening in high fidelity. This level of crisp audio in the incredible orchestral performances may explain why Star Wars streams spiked by 30% worldwide, just before last year’s Star Wars Day. Plays of the film’s soundtracks in high fidelity also rocketed by 184% from January 2019 to April 2021.
“Listening to Star Wars soundtracks in high fidelity with the right gear means you can hear all the rich detail that you’d likely miss through regular sound quality. The minute you close your eyes, you’ll feel like you’re in a concert hall, listening to John Williams conduct the London Symphony Orchestra live,” commented Antoine Jaeger, Deezer’s Soundtrack Editor.
This Star Wars Day on May 4th, fans can listen to all of the movie’s soundtracks in stunning high fidelity on sound systems such as Sonos and Bang & Olufsen. For a full list of recommended devices to experience HiFi see here.
We also have something special for all Star Wars superfans. The newly released “Music From The Star Wars Saga – The Essential Collection” features 18 of the most iconic Star Wars tracks in 360 Reality Audio. This audio format delivers the ultimate listening experience, using spatial sound mixing to mimic the acoustics of a live performance.
